HOW HAS COVID-19 CHANGED THE PROGRAM?

SREI is now held in a hybrid format. All meetings will be ​on Zoom and our final Symposium will be in-person, with alternative options available for emergencies.

AM I ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?

SREI is open to all high school students, ages 14-18. Students do not need to attend a high school from the Irvine Unified School district. Since the program is now online, students will be responsible for obtaining a device that can utilize the Zoom meeting platform.

 

IS SREI ASSOCIATED WITH UC IRVINE?

SREI is an independent summer program that has no affiliation with UC Irvine. However, many of the staff and the presenters are UCI students and faculty.

 

WHAT DO STUDENTS RECEIVE AT THE COMPLETION OF THE PROGRAM?

Aside from the invaluable experience and knowledge gained from active participation and attendance, students will also receive a certificate of completion at the conclusion of their internship that will be sent to them digitally. Additionally, students will receive a letter of recommendation from Dr. Andrea Nicholas, the Director of the SREI program.
